Queens Crescent Community Centre
30th July 2017 – Ride London for Muscular Dystrophy
Laurie recently took part in the 2017 Ride London challenge in the hopes of raising funds for Muscular Dystrophy UK. Laurie Avadis raised £650 for Muscular Dystrophy UK.
Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity for the 70,000 people living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK.
They bring together people affected by more than 60 rare and very rare progressive muscle-weakening and wasting conditions and provide vital information, advice, resources and support for people with these conditions, their families and the professionals who work with them.
16th March 2016 – Hestia’s Comedy Night
On March 3rd hoards flocked to Dingwalls in Camden in support of the fabulous London based charity, Hestia.
Sponsored by ourselves, the night saw some fantastic comedians from Jason Patterson to Russell Howard.
We can’t wait for round 2 in 2017.

Laurie took part in the intense Wellington Triathlon – hosted by Wellington College in Berkshire; once again raising funds for Hestia.

21st May 2015 – Hestia’s Stand Up Against domestic Abuse
Immensely proud to be the events principle sponsor.
The goal of the night was to raise vital funds for women and children across London who are escaping domestic abuse. The evening’s MC was Joy Carter (co-host of the BEFFTA Awards 2010), and she was joined on stage by Shazia Mirza (Have I Got News For You and Guardian columnist), Roisin Conaty (BBC 3’s Impractical Jokers/ Edinburgh Comedy Award), Jason Patterson (Edinburgh Comedy Festival/ Loaded Laftas Rising Star Comedy Award), Sarah Kendall, Suzi Ruffel, Liam Williams and Felicity Ward.
The evening itself was nothing short of a resounding success – tackling a serious issue and raising funds in excess of £500 all whilst putting smiles on people’s faces.
2nd May 2015 – London West Tough Mudder
One of our Solicitors took part in this grueling event to raise funds and awareness for Hestia Housing and Support and their work with victims of Domestic Violence.
26th April 2015 – Southampton Fast Twitch Triathlon
Laurie took part in the Fast Twitch Traithlon to help raise funds and awareness for Hestia Housing and Support and their work with domestic violence victims. Considering this was Laurie’s first triathlon he did exceedingly well. Laurie finished 8th in his age group and a very respectable 65th overall.
20th December 2014 – Camden Business Awards
We are delighted to announce that we have been invited to enter these awards by Camden Council under the categories of Outstanding Contribution to the Community and Small Business of the Year.

24th July 2014 – Victim Support
We are delighted to announce that we are now linked with Victim Support.
Victim Support are a national organisation that offer support to victims and witnesses of crime. They are a national organisation which was established in 1974. They have since gone on to become the largest victim support organisation in the entire world.
Their sole purpose is to offer emotional and practical support to victims and witnesses’ of crime and to provide the strength to individuals to move on from criminal events.
In a more local capacity, the Camden branch of Victim Support works closely with the Police, Kentish Town CAB, MASH and Social Services.
We look forward to working with them and helping further their cause.

13th June 2014 – Shooting Star Hospice and ‘Ex’
Laurie has developed a relationship with the Shooting Star Chase children’s Hospice. He will be crowdfunding his novel, “Ex”, and for every £20 paid Avadis and Co. will donate £5 to the Hospice – with the aim of raising over £1000 for this worthy cause.
Laurie’s motherdied on the 11th April and we had a great deal of support from Princess Alice Hospice in her last few days. That is why he wanted to help raise money for a Hospice with this project. As a child care solicitor he really wanted to help a children’s Hospice and the subject matter of his novel includes the theme of abuse suffered by a group of children and their fight for a resolution and justice.
There will be more about this project as it develops.

2nd March 2014 – 10k Run in Bushy Park
Laurie took part in the 10k race in Bushy Park to help raise funds and awareness for Hestia Housing Support. Laurie finished in 26th place with a time of 45.02

3rd February 2014 Onwards – Camden Community Law Centre Advice Sessions

16th November 2013 – Mens Health Survival of the Fittest
Laurie is taking part in this challenging 10k race at Battersea. The route features around 10k of running with over 20 obstacle zones en route, packing in nearly 100 pieces of equipment throughout. 11th September 2013 – 5k Run on Parliament Hill with Highgate Harriers
We are sponsoring this open event for runners of 15 upwards in conjunction with Highgate Harriers with a prize from Running Matters in Camden Town. Laurie and various others will be taking part and there will be a prize for the fastest under 17 year old from Running Matters in Camden Town. Laurie has decided against a special prize for the first, second and third M50 runner even though it might have meant he had to present himself with a prize. Please come and support us on the evening.
