Great fun was had over the weekend at Haverstock School’s ‘Celebrating Parents and Carers’ day. Avadis & Co held a raffle at the well-attended event, offering the tantalising prize of £40 Hotel Chocolat to one lucky recipient. Cakes were also sold in aid of the Haverstock Build On project, whilst free advice sessions were also run in the library. It was fantastic speaking to everyone there about our work in the community and the nature of support we can offer to local families. We also relished the opportunity to show our support for the tireless work undertaken by the school and parents and carers in the local community.
The celebration was certainly action-packed – there were demonstrations by cheerleaders, African drummers, self-defence exponents and jive dancers from the local community, as well as a bit of clowning around with family entertainer ‘Bubblz’. The guests did not shy away from any of the activities, including our Laurie and Fiona who had a go at the jive session. Elsewhere at the school, there was an indoor bouncy castle and arts and crafts for people to get involved in. All in all, it was a hugely successful day.
